rehabilitation, training, and prevention"

Membership Information

  • The Trauma Society of South Africa (TSSA) is a national society representing all healthcare professionals interested in the care of a trauma patient across the spectrum from time of injury through to rehabilitation. TSSA is the only multidisciplinary trauma society in South Africa. TSSA works with its members to ensure that they are the best informed and the best prepared to provide trauma care in their respective communities.

Excellent trauma care relies on a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach and TSSA recognises the importance of all the diverse professions making up this team and actively works to encourage this multidisciplinary approach.

TSSA is taking a leading role nationally in being a strong supporter of injury prevention and by encouraging and supporting initiative to reduce the impact of trauma related morbidity and mortality on our nation.

TSSA serves its members by creating opportunities for professional development through CMEs and research/travel grants, leadership positions and collaboration with other like-minded trauma healthcare professionals.
